The Accountable Leader

Accountability is an absolute necessity in life. It means willingly submitting to the authority over us, consenting to the scrutiny of our performance, facing evaluation that may reveal inconsistencies in our life, and accepting just judgement. Accountability challenges us to develop to the fullest and fulfill our calling in life, it spurs us to a commitment to perform at our best, and it helps us keep the end in view. It saves us from negligence, procrastination, sloppiness, poverty of purpose, and from yielding to uncontrolled desires and undisciplined lusts. Accountability prepares us to meet God with great joy and without fear. No operation will ever succeed without having conscientious leaders who regard their accountability as the key to their success. Every leader must always keep in mind his immediate need for accountability to man, and his ultimate accountability to God. An accountable leader has an orderly mind, a disciplined will, and an obedient heart in his daily walk with God. The subtle things in a leaders life that eventually betray him are the little things he ignores; a little habit, a little expense, a little time squandered. Many a ship has sunk because of small, unattended leaks. The accountable leader regards God as his daily Judge, as well as his final judge. This attitude helps him walk and enjoy life in the Spirit with all it's liberating advantages and abundance of fruit that glorifies God and blesses man.
