It is time to learn the elite drills and batting skills you must have in order to compete! Have you ever seen a group of construction workers build a brand-new house? This book and the drills to come will focus on developing such fundamentals until they are absolute staples for you. These drills aim to help you develop a certain ‘feel’ for part of your swing and then be able to take that reference to the plate. This book and these drills will focus on: Technique & Fundamentals; details on what each drill is specifically looking to accomplish Thought Process & Approach when trying the drills Execution & Translating into Games; how does this help you perform better at the plate? Not every drill will be for you, and that is to be expected. It is your job to experiment with these and create your own arsenal of drills that help you prepare. Coach Tim’s Winners Tip: Not all drills will be easy or comfortable, especially at first. Some drills I will offer here may even seem silly or whacky when you are first introduced to them. That is okay, especially when first experimenting with a new challenge! It is good to get uncomfortable and try new things. You must 100% buy into these drills when you first attempt them; try them with full effort and don’t just go through the motions. Don’t half-heartedly try these drills and don’t worry about stinking it up when you first try them! You will probably have some difficulty at first. Learn from each drill and swing you take. Ultimately, batting drills of any sort are typically “part-to-whole” concepts. We practice and develop the parts and then start building (this will make more sense once we get to our first set of drills). Batter Up!
