Description
Cama-i! My name is Sarah Schroeder, and I am from the small town of Dillingham located in the Bristol Bay region of Southwest Alaska. I am Yup’ik and Unangan (Aleut), and was fortunate to grow up heavily influenced by my culture’s traditions and practices. As Native people we have a special relationship with our land and wildlife and have been taught to respect all aspects of nature and what the land provides. I thought it would be fun to create something that allowed others to experience some of the cultural practices and wildlife that are vital to our livelihood. I hope you enjoy bringing these illustrations to life with lots of colors and creativity!
