Description
This is the story of a people and a culture at a pivotal time in Afghanistan's history as told from the perspective of a village girl with big dreams and aspirations. You are invited into the daily lives of Mora and her family as she grows up in the village of Deh-Dara and fights for the right to an education. You will have a front seat for the coup that overthrew the government in 1978 and subsequent Soviet invasion in 1979. You will join them as they trek over the Hindu Kush Mountains, experience life as a refugee in Pakistan, and face the stark reality of returning to a destroyed homeland. Mora and her family face challenges at every turn but in each case, the resilience of this proud people allows them to rise above the obstacles in their way.
