There’s the Lower East Side contingent of Meyer Lansky, Bugsy Siegel and Lucky Luciano. Goldy’s old pals, The Brownsville Boys, are in the novel as well as the mentor to Lansky and Luciano, Arnold Rothstein, a notorious gambler who fixed the 1919 World Series.
